In 2023, I lost my dog Hugo to lymphoma — a disease I now believe can often be detected much earlier with proactive care. For most of his life, Hugo looked healthy. But by the time symptoms appeared and I realised something was wrong, the cancer was already advanced.
Unfortunately, Hugo’s story is far too common. Most pet care is still reactive and designed to respond once a problem is visible, rather than helping prevent it in the first place.
Hugo was founded to bridge that gap. To make preventive health screening and early insight more accessible, so pet owners can act sooner, reduce disease risk, and maximise the number of healthy years they get together.

I grew up with a black labradoodle Oscar that was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had a brief stint as a three-legged dog long before his time.
My motivation in building Hugo is to ensure that the same doesn't happen to our new groodle Murphy and that he can live a longer, healthier life with the family and bring us more joy for more years.
